Virus removal tips

blog-virus Do you suspect your computer has a virus?

If your computer is running slow, popping up with random windows or ads when browsing the Internet, you may have a virus or some malicious software installed on your system.

Here’s a quick definition:

  • Virus – Usually a piece of malicious code that intends on damaging your system
  • Malware, Spyware, Adware – Software that is usually installed “legitimately” along with programs found for free on the Internet. They are designed for all sorts of purposes including damaging your system, collecting data and web browser hi-jacking.

Once on your system, they can be very difficult to remove. A good start is to have a decent Anti-virus. Not all paid Anti-viruses do what they claim, so be aware. For example a very well-known Antivirus claims to remove Malware, however it does an extremely poor job at it.

Listed are my 3 most recommended Anti-virus solutions:

  1. Kaspersky Total Security (Paid, 1 year subscription)
  2. BitDefender (Free edition)
  3. Avast! (Free edition)

Running a good Antivirus may or may not resolve the issues you are having. Some Malware can make frustrating changes to your system that requires manual removal, even after using a Malware and Virus removal tool.
